Educational Background:
Larry is well known in the Kingston area. After graduating from Sydenham High School, he attended Queen's University where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1982. The federal government recognized his abilities and he began a career in the finance department of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).
Larry's belief in life-long learning sent him back to school and he obtained a Certified Management Accounting (CMA)
designation in 1988, Certified Financial Planner(CFP) designation in 2003 and Chartered Life Underwriter(CLU) in 2006.
Career:
Larry appreciates the value of having a personal financial plan. Establishing and implementing a financial plan can be very intimidating and complex. Larry believes that he can help clients by creating a financial plan that is easy for them to understand, implement and follow.
Larry honed these skills through several financial management positions at CSC, providing management teams with budgeting and financial advice. Since 1988, he has operated a successful income tax preparation and accounting practice, assisting clients with simplifying their accounting paperwork by organizing and managing their personal finances.
Personal Background:
Larry was born and raised in Perth Road. Along with his three brothers and four sisters, he kept busy helping his parents operate their dairy farm. Larry and his wife Wendy now reside on the farm in a house that Larry designed and built. They have three young children - Brett, Shannon and Alana.
During his leisure time, Larry enjoys spending time with family and friends; reading, golfing, playing pond hockey and watching his children participate in sports, music, and school activities.
